ICO aka Crowdfunding

What is an ICO?

ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is an alternative method of investments raising in the form of "crypto-shares".

Each crypto-share is presented in a block-chain token form based on "smart" contracts. It ensures 100% fund-raising transparency. Initially, these tokens are sold to investors at a fixed price. After that, the tokens start being traded on crypto-exchanges. Typically, over time their price multiplies many times and gains huge profits.

What are altcoins?

The word “altcoin” is an abbreviation of “Bitcoin alternative,” and thus describes every single cryptocurrency except for Bitcoin. Altcoins are referred to as Bitcoin alternatives because, at least to some extent, most altcoins hope to either replace or improve upon at least one Bitcoin component. Some altcoins examples are etherium, monero, pesobit, time etc..For more info about altcoins you can go here https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Altcoin

What is bitcoin?

Bitcoin according to wikipedia is a peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency introduced as open source software in 2009 by pseudonymous developer Satoshi Nakamoto. It is a cryptocurrency, so-called because it uses cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money.Conventionally, "Bitcoin" capitalized refers to the technology and network whereas lowercase "bitcoins" refers to the currency itself.
Bitcoins are created by a process called mining, in which participants verify and record payments in exchange for transaction fees and newly minted bitcoins.Users send and receive bitcoins using wallet software on a personal computer, mobile device, or a web application. Bitcoins can be obtained by mining or in exchange for products, services, or other currencies.Take a look at this video.
